If You Smell Gas or Have a Gas Escape

Turn off the gas supply immediately. The valve will normally be located next to the gas meter which may be inside your property or, in more modern properties, will be in a box on the outside wall.

• Open all doors and windows
• Turn off any pilot lights, flames or other sources of ignition
• Do not smoke
• Do not operate ANY Electrical light or power switches either on or off
• Call the the National Gas Emergency Line on 0800 111 999 who will advise on what to do next
